Therapeutensuche

Looking for a therapist in Austria mostly means working through association member lists and directories built for the practitioners rather than for the person searching — at the moment when someone has the least patience for either. Therapeutensuche is my own attempt at the version I’d want to use.

For the people searching. Specialty, city or postal code, and a radius you set yourself, narrowed down to who has availability — psychotherapy through to physiotherapy, coaching and nutrition counselling. No account, nothing to hand over: the search is public and stays that way, which for this subject matter is a requirement rather than a feature.

For therapists. A profile is free, takes a few minutes and comes with no contract attached. A directory is only worth anything to either side if the results answer the question that was asked, so the incentives have to stay out of the ranking.

Laravel holds the data and the backend, SvelteKit and Tailwind do the front. It’s built the way anything gets built when the same person will still be maintaining it in three years: few moving parts, and no dependency I couldn’t replace myself.
